BLUE FLAG 2013: THE BEACH OF BIBIONE HAS BEEN AWARDED FOR THE 22ND TIME‹ All the News/Events
From 23/05/2013 to 30/09/2013
The 22nd Blue Flag is waving on the beach of Bibione. This confirms once again the attention given by the Northern Adriatic resort to its environmental sustainability. The beaches of Bibione – together with other 247 Italian sea and lake resorts – have been awarded, for the 18th consecutive year, with the international eco-label by the Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE), which, since 1987, has valued the quality of different sites in 41 countries all over the world.
This year Bibione has again succeeded in front of the Jury Commission of the “Blue Flag” Program. The Commission judges on the basis of 32 criteria with reference to the activities of environmental education and information, water quality, environmental management, services and safety, and beach quality among all the sites that take voluntary part in this initiative.
“We are very proud of this year's Blue Flag – declares Vania Prataviera, President of the Hoteliers of Bibione (Aba) – and we are thankful to the public administration of San Michele al Tagliamento that has once again participated in the initiative showing to FEE important proofs of our environmental activities and intervention along the beaches of Bibione. The Blue Flag is a real feather in Bibione's cap and we, as hoteliers, are more than willing to participate in all the initiatives of sustainable management inside our territory. We hope that these activities will be still improved in the following years. We have also worked on the initiative of Bibione Hotels Club, with the aim of diversifying the tourism offered by Bibione and with the focus on sustainable tourism. Some of our associated hoteliers you can find on www.bibione.eu – explains the President of Aba – offer a special service for those tourists fond of Nordic Walking and of bike riding; certainly a market group who can really enjoy a holiday in Bibione”
